I assumed that the Board would acknowledge that this was the last meeting of the Town Board for George Keeler and Jim Jackson. Jim was physically absent and there was no recognition of George’s terms of service to the town — he had already been presented with a plaque at the November meeting.
I want to give a shout out of thanks to George. He publicly acknowledged Pine Plains Views and helped with its coverage of the community. For example, one evening George contacted me from the funeral home to see if I would film a funeral the next day to honor a very deserving local son and veteran. It turned out to be Dave Cookingham.
